“Sonshine was one of the best decisions we could have made for our daughter’s early learning and development.” – The Kessler’s
Blessings of Sonshine:
Entrusting our precious daughter to the care of another, and deciding the best place for her to learn and grow, certainly, one of life’s difficult decisions. However, we heard what a great place Sonshine Children’s Center was both from attending The Bridge Church and from friends and family who had great experiences at Sonshine. We decided on Sonshine and hoped it would be the perfect place for our daughter to learn and grow. In looking back over the years and her experiences at Sonshine, our experience has surpassed all the “hopes” we had.
Our daughter attended Sonshine from the infant and pre-school program, through school-age care and summer camp programs. The foundation that Sonshine helped give our daughter included faith based values in a fun learning environment which made everyday a great day for our daughter. She absolutely loves Sonshine! She loves the classes, teachers -especially Miss Ruth Ann, and all the fun projects they did. A few skills she has learned include following directions, listening, recognizing and writing her ABC’s, numbers, and writing both her first and last name. The programs at Sonshine are well rounded and structured, and include activities outside of the classroom, as well. Our daughter participated in classroom plays that were performed on the church stage, singing performances, field trips, and “show ‘n’ tell”, etc. The teachers at Sonshine updated us regularly on her progress, both verbally and in writing and were always available to answer any questions we had.
As you think about child care for your precious children and as you ponder over one of life’s difficult decisions, sending our daughter to Sonshine was one of the best decisions we could have made for our daughter’s early learning and development.
We will always be thankful for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our daughter by everyone at Sonshine. What a special place!
Sincerely,
The Kessler Family

The Garcia’s Story
“I feel both of my children have entered or will enter Kindergarten with a strong educational background because of Sonshine.” – The Engelhardt’s
Dear Sonshine Community,
There are many wonderful things I can say about Sonshine. My children have been attending the center over the past 5 years. From the start, the staff has always been pleasant and professional in every aspect. I’ve never had any reservation in sending either of our children to Sonshine, as I am sure they are receiving the best care and education appropriate for their age.
Living outside of the school district that Sonshine serves, we considered switching centers as my son approached Kindergarten, so he would be with children that would attend the same Kindergarten. After touring other centers, we ultimately decided to keep both of our children at Sonshine because the benefits at Sonshine outweighed our children going to Kindergarten with other kids they knew. Not only are the staff caring and friendly, but the facilities are always clean and inviting. Children’s artwork is always on display, with a special art display in the lobby for each classroom. The building is always bright and cheerful and the gymnasium in the center is amazing! It’s so great to have that area on rainy days, or as just another educational space.
As a fellow educator, who has worked in multiple child care centers in the past, I can say that Sonshine is one of the best! I love the structured learning time that they get in all classrooms, but especially as they enter the preschool years. I also love that they are encouraged to learn through play as well. I know preschool teachers have made an effort to coordinate with Kindergarten teachers in the local district, to make sure they are prepared for the traditional school setting. My daughter, who will enter Kindergarten next year, can write her full name, can recognize most numbers and knows all of her letters and letter sounds, as well as, many other skills. When I pick her up from school, she is excited to show me everything in her classroom and comes home singing the songs and doing the dances she has learned all night long. She also loves to play school at home, and imitates her teachers’ gentle, kind and caring demeanor. I feel both of my children have entered or will enter Kindergarten with a strong educational background because of Sonshine.
One of my favorite things, and something I will miss the most, are the performances that are done twice a year. The shows are educational, humorous, and entertaining. I am excited to see my daughter graduate to Kindergarten, but sad that our Sonshine journey is coming to an end. I can honestly say that I will greatly miss the teachers, people, and atmosphere of Sonshine.
With Love and Appreciation,
The Engelhardts
